Can I name a directory starting with a numeral?

No. Blosxom doesn't allow directories starting with a digit. You can indeed use digits in the directory or entry file name, just not as the first character. This is so as to allow Blosxom to understand both paths (e.g. /some/path) and dates (e.g. /2003/09) and a mingling of the two (e.g. /some/path/2003/09 ^M showing only September 2003's entries along /some/path).
